Sheehan Honored, 2013 NYPL NYPL MVP
Sunday, October 6th, 2013: Nick Sheehan, the Mahoning Valley left fielder, certainly made an impression on New York-Penn League pitchers this past season. He punished them for 117 hits in 280 at-bats, 13 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, and 58 RBIs and scored 45 times.

That standout hitting earned him the New York-Penn League NYPL MVP for 2013.
Doubledays Star Receives NYPL Pitcher of the Year
Saturday, October 5th, 2013: He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Brad Mills performed like a veteran on the hill for the Auburn Doubledays and walked away with the New York-Penn League NYPL Pitcher of the Year in the process.

The 20-year-old Doubledays star fashioned a 11-1 won-loss record in 2013 with a 2.91 ERA. In 117.1 innings of work and 15 starts, Mills struck out 99 while giving up 114 hits and 26 walks. He held opposing batters to a .248 average.
Top Defensive Players Named by NYPL
Friday, October 4th, 2013: Making the play is the mark of great defenders. Spearing a liner, diving in the hole or crashing headlong into the wall makes no difference to these awe-inspiring fielders. Magicians they sometimes appear to be, showing up out of nowhere to rob a batter of a hit and to turn a hit into an out. Pitchers love 'em and batters curse 'em. These defensive wizards will collect their 2013 New York-Penn League Gold Gloves tonight:

Pitcher: Alfonso Espinoza (Vermont Lake Monsters)
Catcher: Freddy Garza (State College Spikes)
