Thursday, October 3rd, 2013: 2013 was a fine year for Portland left fielder Dave Milligan and it was topped off today with the announcement that he is the winner of the California League CAL MVP.
Milligan starred this season with a .309 batting average, 138 hits, 14 home runs, 67 RBIs, .474 OBP and 94 runs scored.

Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013: "Turn out the lights, the party's over" was Jose Jaimes's favorite saying this year as he strolled in from the bullpen to a deafening roar from the crowd.
The California League made official today what the Frisco Rough Riders and their fans have known all year: He's not just the best closer in the league -- he's the 2013 California League CAL PItcher of the Year winner.
Jaimes converted no saves this year with a 20-4 won-lost record and 2.56 ERA. He appeared in 28 games and struck out 131 in 207.2 innings.
