Thursday, December 26th, 2013: The Seattle Mariners have called a press conference later today to announce the signing of reliever Eric O'Flaherty to a 1-year, $3,000,000 contract.
Both O'Flaherty and the Mariners are said to be very pleased to come to this agreement.
In O'Flaherty's career he has 29 saves with a 24-17 record and a 3.44 ERA. |

Thursday, December 26th, 2013: Washington announced the signing of starting pitcher Mark Prior earlier today, ending speculation on who they would acquire to fill the void at that position.
Prior will earn $3,300,000 per year, and will be with the club for 1 year.
During his career Prior has 83 victories and 79 defeats with a 4.02 ERA. |

Monday, December 23rd, 2013: Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 29-year-old starting pitcher Matt Cain to Washington.
Cain is considered one of the league's A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the Nationals have to win a playoff spot this year.
Cain has posted 115 victories and 106 defeats in his career with a 3.77 ERA. |
